Född i Stockholm men uppvuxen i Dalsland. Bakgrund som musiker i olika experimentella och mer konventionella ensembler sedan 1987. Studier vid Gotlands Tonsättarskola för Sven-David Sandström och kompositionslinjen vid Göteborgs universitet för Ole Lützow-Holm, Anders Hultqvist, Åke Parmerud med flera och har sedan examen 2003 arbetat som tonsättare och kulturarbetare. Sedan 2004 medlem i FST (Föreningen Svenska Tonsättare). Blomdahl är aktiv i Göteborg och är då baserad i Elementstudion men bor i Småland där Blomdahl tillsammans med Kerstin Björk driver projektet Kulturvagnen.

Born in Stockholm and with a backround as a musician in various experimental and more conventional ensembles since 1987. Blomdahl studied composition for Sven-David Sandström at the Gotland School of Music Composition and pursued the composition program at the University of Gothenburg under Ole Lützow-Holm, Anders Hultqvist, Åke Parmerud among others. Since graduating in 2003, he has worked as a composer, sound artist, festival curator etc. Member of FST (the Society of Swedish Composers) since 2004. Also active in Gothenburg—where he is based at Elementstudion and the GEIGER society—but lives in Småland, where he and Kerstin Björk run the project *Kulturvagnen*.
